The Daigre House

All of us here at Pierce & Shows have strong feelings for Baton Rouge, and particularly the downtown area. Because we are often in court at the 19th Judicial District Court, City Court or the Federal Court for the MiddleDistrict of Louisiana, our Beauregard Town location is a convenient "launch point" for a day of trial or hearings in the area courts. The historic and eclectic nature of the downtown area is a fitting backdrop to our practice, which melds aspects of the old-time, small-town lawyer with the varied (and often, harried) demands of the modern business of resolving corporate, personal and insurance disputes. The building itself was built around 1900 as a residence for Ms. Rosa Lee Daigre, in the Queen Anne style, with fairly extensive Victorian detailing. Noted restoration specialist Jon Emerson began a comprehensive renovation of the property in 1978, and the building and grounds were listed on the Register of the Foundation for a Historical at the conclusion of that work.

The building features high ceilings and plantation windows with soothing views of fountains, courtyards and unique plantings. Our team members and clients find that the "feel" of the Daigre House helps relieve some of the stresses and tensions inherent in the dispute resolution process. The home has been featured in a variety of historic, architectural and educational tours.
